Great Lakes Burning River APA
The first beer I ever tried was the Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald. I bought it right at midnight when I turned 21. I remember hating it and now it’s one of my favorites (have you noticed I have a lot of favorites? :D). Anyway, Great Lakes Brewing Co. has been a great source of beer for me for awhile. This American Pale Ale is quite good. Is it the best pale ale I’ve ever had? Nope. But still good.
Interesting things on the bottle:
“In keeping with the Bavarian Purity Law of 1516, this beer is traditionally brewed from all natural ingredients: barley, hops, yeast and water. No chemicals or preservatives are used.” Nice to see that on a bottle. I’ve never heard of the Bavarian Purity Law so I had to look it up. Heck yes beer history.
“What do you do when your river catches fire from excessive pollution? Clean it up and throw a hoppin’ party! Our annual summer Burning River Fest is the premier environmental education and music festival celebrating clean water and other eco-initiatives across the Great Lakes region.” ohhh I’ve heard of the Burning River Fest! One year I will go!
